Capitol Hill

1st floor & basement remodel

The first issues we needed to address were structural: floor joist “fatigue” – caused by inadequate structure in the basement – had resulted in a floor plane that dropped as much as 1” in places and 2” overall.  The entire first level of the residence was made plumb, square and level through the use of additional footings, structural steel and basic framing corrections.   The main and lower levels were completely remodeled to include a new  bathroom, family room, storage, recycled heart pine floors and the kitchen shown here.  All cabinetry was fabricated in-house.
